Shades of Grape

“Shades of Grape” Watercolour 14 x 10”

Here’s a great way to start a painting! Without any drawing or using a brush, spray the paper in a random manner and add drops of red, yellow and blue – a triad.

The water will help those three pigments to blend and produce an almost infinite number of different colours and shades. Let it dry thoroughly.

The next step: follow the colours and tints on the paper and start creating grapes and leaves, positives shapes and sometimes going around them in a negative fashion.

Add details and make adjustments, sign it and reach for wine in a bottle!
